Operator — who we are

Odds Primer is an independent editorial website covering sports prediction markets.

We are not a registered company, broker, or sportsbook. For privacy questions, contact privacy@oddsprimer.com.

Information we may collect

We may collect:

  • Website usage data, such as page views and clicks
  • Device and browser information
  • Approximate location derived from IP address
  • Cookie and tracking preferences
  • Outbound click data, including clicks to third-party venues

Why we collect information

We use this information to:

  • Understand how readers use the site
  • Improve the product and editorial experience
  • Measure outbound clicks to third-party venues
  • Maintain site security
  • Comply with legal obligations

Legal basis

Where data protection law applies, we rely on legitimate interests for analytics, outbound-click measurement, and site security, and on consent for non-essential cookies and similar technologies.

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer.

Cookies and consent

Essential cookies are always on — they are needed for the site to work and to remember your cookie choices.

Non-essential cookies and similar technologies, including analytics and affiliate measurement, only run after you consent.

Anonymous reader-activity cookies — op_anon (random UUID, 1 year, used to count unique reads and remember your chip vote on a match) and op_design (your choice of card design) — are essential: they hold no personal identifier, are not shared with third parties, and are never used for advertising. Server-side, your IP address is stored as a short daily-salted hash for same-day abuse prevention, unlinkable across days.

You can change your preferences at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer. Full detail is on the Cookie policy page.

Affiliate measurement

Some outbound links may include referral or affiliate tracking.

This helps us understand whether readers visit third-party venues from Odds Primer and may allow us to earn referral revenue.

Affiliate tracking does not determine our editorial verdicts. See the Affiliate disclosure for more.

Third-party venues

Odds Primer links to third-party venues such as Polymarket and Kalshi.

Once you leave Odds Primer, those venues may collect and process your data under their own privacy policies, which are separate from ours.

Review their policies before using those services.

Service providers

We may share limited information with service providers that help operate the site, such as hosting providers, analytics providers, and affiliate tracking providers.

We do not sell personal information.

International transfers

Service providers we use may process data outside your country.

Where required, we take steps intended to ensure appropriate safeguards for that data.

Children

Odds Primer is not directed at children.

We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age required to use prediction markets in their location.

Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law.

Privacy requests

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • Access your data
  • Correct your data
  • Delete your data
  • Object to certain processing
  • Withdraw consent
  • Request a copy of your data

To make a request, contact privacy@oddsprimer.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always appear on this page.
